The Cukunft project – “Local Narratives of Diversity in Action-Against Urban Antisemitism and Social Exclusion” implemented thanks to 2019 EVZ-HIA Grant Competition was nominated to 2020 BRaVE FAIR Awards.

As part of this project, members of Cukunft organize a number of educational and socio-cultural initiatives preventing all forms of antisemitism, discrimination and social exclusion based on nationality or religion.

During the 2019/2020 academic year, our Cukunft Association organized and co-organized: 1) Jewish holidays combined with lectures and workshops (live and online), 2) Polish-German-Jewish youth sports project “Kick for Europe”, 3) 3rd Lower Silesian Festival of the Jewish Culture in Wałbrzych and 4) Fussballiada 2020 – IV International Football Tournament for children from national minorities named after Ernst Willimowski.

The implementation of all parts of the project and events would not be possible without the generous support of our friends, institutional partners and sponsors: EVZ Foundation, Humanity in Action Foundation, Dariusz Paczkowski and Klamra Foundation, Laurina Todesaite and #CookJewishBeJewish, JewSalsa, Charles & Lynn Schustermann Family Foundation, ROI Community , Rafał Nocoń and the German Educational Society, Iron Man Sports Society and the German Foundation Lernort Stadion eV from Berlin and many others that would be difficult to list here. We as Cukunft Jewish Association are very grateful to all of them for help, support and motivation to every day work.

What is a BRaVE Award?

The organizers of the BRaVE project with the BRaVE FAIR competition are looking for new and innovative projects that constitute a social response to the contemporary development of extremism and polarization in Europe. Until the 15 July 2020, projects could be submitted to the international competition, which were assessed by a panel of experts and then qualified for further participation in a public online vote that takes place till 15 November 2020.

Based on number of votes the organizers will choose 3 projects that will receive funding of 1000 EUR from the BRaVE project for their activities.
